PRODUCE KEEPER TRAY™ USE & CARE

  • DO NOT use Produce Keeper Tray™ in conventional or convection ovens, microwave ovens, under browning elements, or on stovetop. For extended storage of fresh fruits and vegetables, use the SNAPWARE® Produce Keeper Tray™ in the bottom of your 6.5 cup square Pyrex® glass container. The tray captures the natural gases emitted by produce to slow down the ripening process which will keep you food tasting fresh longer. In addition, the tray elevates your produce above excess water to reduce mold on tender berries and lettuce. For best results:
  • do not wash produce before storing
  • store fruits and vegetables on top of dry Produce Keeper tray in sealed container
  • store sealed container in refrigerator
  • wash produce before eating
  • The Produce Keeper Tray™ is most effective at extending freshness when storing fruits and vegetables that emit, or are affected by, high amounts of natural ripening gases. Examples of affected fruits and vegetables includes, but is not limited to apples, pears, nectarines, kiwi fruit, broccoli, cauliflower, lemons/limes, avocados, asparagus, cantaloupe, and cucumbers. Freshness results may vary depending on the type of produce stored. The Produce Keeper Tray™ is dishwasher safe, top rack only. Dry thoroughly to maintain the tray’s effectiveness for up to one year.

      A:

Hi and thank you for your interest in our products. In regards to the covers to the Snapware Total Solution™ dishes, they are a combination of a polypropylene and a TPE material so a plastic number is not applicable. BPS is not typically a component of polypropylene, they are PVC and phthalate free, we do not currently test for EA and the covers are made in the USA.

  • Q:

I have a large set of plastic Snapware containers, that i love and use daily. Ive had them for about a year. However, I have noticed that as time goes on, the sides of the containers may be getting softer. When i put the lids on, i often can easily fasten 2 of the flaps, but frequently have trouble with one or both of the other 2 flaps snapping into place. it's becoming quite annoying. Any suggestions as to a remedy to this issue???

  • Q:

I recently decided to move away from plastic food storage and invest in glass food storage. I bought several sets of Snapware glass containers. However, I am very disappointed with the lids after a few use. The lids form mildew very easily and is very difficult to clean. The locking tabs have several hard to reach and clean corners in the lid which repeatedly form mildew. Same with the gaskets in the lids. These do not come off to clean but form mildew easily.

We're sorry to learn of your disappointment. The lids and gaskets can be cleaned by using a Q tip or toothpick to remove any mold that has formed. We recommend letting your lid dry completely before placing it on the vessel for storage. We would be happy to help if you are still experiencing issues. We can be reached at 1-800-999-3436.
