PRODUCE KEEPER TRAY™ USE & CARE

  • DO NOT use Produce Keeper Tray™ in conventional or convection ovens, microwave ovens, under browning elements, or on stovetop. For extended storage of fresh fruits and vegetables, use the SNAPWARE® Produce Keeper Tray™ in the bottom of your 6.5 cup square Pyrex® glass container. The tray captures the natural gases emitted by produce to slow down the ripening process which will keep you food tasting fresh longer. In addition, the tray elevates your produce above excess water to reduce mold on tender berries and lettuce. For best results:
  • do not wash produce before storing
  • store fruits and vegetables on top of dry Produce Keeper tray in sealed container
  • store sealed container in refrigerator
  • wash produce before eating
  • The Produce Keeper Tray™ is most effective at extending freshness when storing fruits and vegetables that emit, or are affected by, high amounts of natural ripening gases. Examples of affected fruits and vegetables includes, but is not limited to apples, pears, nectarines, kiwi fruit, broccoli, cauliflower, lemons/limes, avocados, asparagus, cantaloupe, and cucumbers. Freshness results may vary depending on the type of produce stored. The Produce Keeper Tray™ is dishwasher safe, top rack only. Dry thoroughly to maintain the tray’s effectiveness for up to one year.

Can I freeze cookies in it? I saw in another question that it is not airtight so worried that cookies would not taste as fresh after freezing.

The carrier can go into the freezer but as the container is NOT airtight we would advise. for best storage in the freezer, putting the cookies in freezer bags before putting them in the container.

There is not a hole under each holder. We will definitely provide that suggestion to our Product Development team! There are two finger indentations on each side of the plastic insert intended to make the tray of cupcakes easier to remove from the box.

  • Q:

The cupcake tray slides half-way into the larger tray, since the handles have little grippers on them that "catch" on the edges of the larger tray. (I assume this is by design.)

How then do you lower the tray all the way down without (a) getting frosting on your fingers (and your fingers in the frosting!) or (b) allowing the cupcake tray to SLAM down into the larger tray (causing some cupcakes to topple a bit)?

  • Q:

Is it expandable, i.e. can you add more single trays to it, to make it taller/more sections? If so, where do they sell the expansion sections?
Asked on 2/13/2015 by LegoLarderLooker from Charlotte, NC

    1 answer

    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

Yes, it is designed so that you can add sections. I am unsure where to purchase them. The lid is a little weak, though, so I would not advise adding many sections due to the weight of the food that would be in them, the handle may not hold up to such weight, use caution!
