No where on the instructions for care and cleaning, etc., that came on the pot did it say anything about what would happen if you put them in the dishwasher. I did so and the shiny finish disappeared and it went to a complete matte finish. I have most of Revere cookware with the aluminum base and stainless pots and pans (not nonstick) and they are all the glossy finish. I wanted these to match and have a nonstick insides, now they don't match and I dislike them completely.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
