Sour Cream Cut-Out Cookies

Makes 48 Servings

Make some memories this holiday season with these easy to make, delicious cut-out cookies!

Ingredients

1 cup shortening
1 cup sour cream
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt (optional)
2 tsp vanilla
5 cups flour

Directions

  1. Cream shortening, sour cream and vanilla in mixing bowl.
  2. Sift dry ingredients and gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  3. Work into a dough ball and place in refrigerator for about 1 hour.
  4. Cut into sections and roll out about 1/2 inch thick for cookie cut-outs.
  5. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet in a pre-heated oven 350°F for about 10 minutes.
  6. Cool and ice or decorate as desired. Yield: 4-8 Dozen (depends on size)
