CORNINGWARE Stovetop Yesterday and Today...

Original Corningware Pyroceram material is Back!

We're re-introducing this classic Corningware favorite in the original Blue Cornflower and some new updated patterns!

Pyroceram, a glass-ceramic heated material was originally developed by Corning Inc. in the 1950's to be used in rocket nose cones. Further development to kitchen products resulted in CorningWare cookware, which made its debut in 1958. It was hailed as a new space-age cookware material virtually impervious to temperature extremes.

Originally targeted toward working women who wanted to cook, set an attractive table, and get out of the kitchen fast - with as little clean up as possible, this durable break and chip resistant glass cookware/bakeware is as relevant today as it was 50 years ago.

Safe for use in the freezer, broiler, microwave, stovetop and as a beautiful tabletop serving dish.

Is this your grandmother's casserole? Yes, and we're proud of it! Enjoy this versatile, classic Corningware product for many uses in your kitchen and for many generations to come!

StoveTop 4-pc PYROCERAM® Just White Casserole Set 4.7 5 7 7
My Corning is in daily use. Setting up my new home kitchen required that I purchase Corning pots for cooking. I use the larger one to cook oatmeal every morning. It's also used so often at dinner. The smaller one is used daily for vegetables. The Corning products are non-allergenic (no nickel b/c there is no stainless steel) and it's surface does not flake off particles that are known to cause cancer. I cook in Corning for its safety and my health. I cook in Corning for it's even heat. I cook in Corning b/c it can take the heat. I cook in Corning for its ease in clean-up. I cook in Corning because it is built to last about 1,000 years. I love the solid feel of the pots. They come in great sizes. Wish there were more large sizes. I wish I could find that biggest size for roasting and for huge pots of things I like to cook up. Love this product. November 13, 2012
This is a great product. I bought the Stove Top 4 piece Pyroceram Just White Casserole set for my daughter as a gift. It was something she requested and she is so pleased with it. She loves cooking in it. I have used your products for years and I would highly recommend them to everyone. January 6, 2012
Nice set, stackable for storage These are the same pyroceramic dishes that your grandmother used, without the now dated blue cornflower logo. The squarish shapes are not as elegant as the French White pyroceram line - which has been replaced with stoneware - but are more convenient for casseroles and refrigerator storage. Both lids appear to be identical. They are sturdy glass, but my understanding is that they are not the old fashioned borosilicate Pyrex that was designed for laboratory use, and was significantly more expensive. Still, they seem perfectly serviceable. The lids will stay on at with tilts up to about 35 degrees, which is a lot better than the lids on the Corelle bakeware pieces of similar size. These two pieces have approximately the same length and width, differing in height. For that reason, they do not nest for storage. However, they do stack - you can invert the lid on the shallower dish, and the deeper dish, which has a slightly smaller base, will fit snugly in the inverted lid. December 17, 2011
Still miss the more attractive look of the original "French White" The original French White design that could be used stove top was more attractive, but this does the job and is a nice size choice, as well. November 26, 2011
One downer One problem with the product is that they are breakable. My wife recently dropped a set in the kitchen floor with gray in it. What a mess. November 15, 2011
World Kitchen is #1 in my book I ordered Just White, but received Cornflower Blue. I couldn't be more pleased with how they handled the issue! They sent me out Just White right away and told me to keep or donate the Cornflower Blue set - now that's customer service! No hassles to ship back the wrong item. Thanks World Kitchen. July 31, 2011
If Blue Cornflower is timeless, Just White is eternal. CorningWare Pyroceram was always ahead of its time. When it was introduced in 1958, it’s possible no one at Corning, Inc. would have guessed it would be the ideal cookware for them new-fangled microwave ovens. The only place you can’t use it is on an induction cooktop without some sort of heat-producing interface. Reintroduced in 2008 by World Kitchen, Inc., the new StoveTop collection was an immediate hit, but for a few, that blue cornflower decoration might seem a tad out of place in a shiny digital-era chrome and stainless kitchen. Just White solves that dilemma with the same ever-modern shape and no decoration at all. CorningWare collectors will recognize the 2-liter pan as one of the shapes that would have been called a skillet back when CorningWare was introduced, while the 3-liter was called a saucepan back then. Now made in France with US-made Pyrex lids, this set and its Blue Cornflower partner are ready to make the same culinary journeys from stovetop to freezer to oven to broiler, with an occasional side trip to the microwave. With a little care, they’ll look brand new and still ahead of their time on CorningWare’s 100th anniversary February 18, 2011
