the only Casserole dish to use!
I love CORNING WEAR! I tried using the other dishes but they don't hold up to this one. I had two for 30 years and finally had to replace it. I LIVE. these easy to use and easy to clean.

The "5 qt" is just as before; I am THRILLED
My favorite 5L casserole was broken years ago with Katrina. I couldn't find any merchant that had a casserole that big or that offered that shape. I just happened to Google "Corningware" and up popped the casserole and replacement lids. I couldn't be happier with product or service of World Kitchen.
Thank you. J Champagne

Excellence!...at a cost!
I've always wanted the big 5L casserole! By the time I was out on my own, they had already scrapped the pyroceram line. I have a decent set of "spice o' life" that I've amassed through thrift stores and ebay, but I never picked this one up.
From what else I've tried, these have no equal. Nothing matches the durability, versatility or ease of cleaning. Liquid barkeeper's friend restores even the most scuffed up pieces back to perfect.
The price is a bit high, and I hope that the modern mentality of demanding cheaper and cheaper even if quality suffers will not affect the future of these. Mine are as old as 40 years and still look brand new. I'd love to see regular ceramic casseroles last that long.

Terrific product!
I am so happy thay I found this product online. I looked every place and couldn't find it. I love the shape and size. It is great for making home made chicken soup. I used to have one (slightly smaller) but it broke. I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to get another.

Versatile and Durable Cookware
I was delighted to find the return of Corningware Pyroceram, and I purchased the Just White 5L casserole, along with the glass top, to compliment my original purchase of the Just White 4 piece set which included the 2 and 3L casseroles plus glass covers.
Anyone who enjoys cooking will appreciate using this cookware to prep, bake, serve, and store a variety of dishes, as well as use it to cook a dish on top of the stove. Pyroceram is also great for use in the microwave, just keep in mind, that the 5L dish may be to large to fit in a small microwave oven.
I love using the 5L on top of the stove to brown meat or chicken before transferring the entire dish to the oven, and the ability to use it under the broiler to brown the top of mac & cheese is tops! This cookware is really phenomenal as it allows you to prepare a meal in it, freeze it, and then pop it into the oven to cook or reheat.
I also purchased the plastic lids to go with all of my casseroles for refrigerator and freezer storage. As a tip when purchasing, most of the casserole dishes do not come with covers, glass or plastic. The ones that come with lids will say covered casserole or be part of a set, such as a 4 piece set that includes two casseroles and two glass lids.
This durable cookware is made in France and with proper care should provide years of use. Corningware Pyroceram is sturdy and versatile cookware, but it's still glass. I follow the general guidelines for using glass and ceramic cookware, like placing the hot dish on a dry towel, not knocking spoons against the edge to dislodge food, not putting a hot dish in water and correctly placing the cookware in the dishwasher so that other items do not bang against them.

Microwave safe and microwave SIZE!
As beautiful as my CorningWare StoveTop Pyroceram Enhancements Swirl 4.5 liter casserole is, there's one place in the kitchen it can't go: Into the microwave oven. The low profile and protruding handles make it too wide.
On my first visit to the reopened CorningWare Corelle Revere Factory Store at Ontario Mills mall, I snapped up one of these 5 liter casseroles (Yes, I know, CorningWare collectors, it's really a Dutch oven) along with its Pyrex and plastic lids. As soon as I got home, I parked it in the microwave oven, punched up 0% cooking power (just to make the turntable turn) and put a minute on the timer. It turned without a hitch, so I know I can make my one-pot off-the-stove marinara sauce in it (yes, some of us really do cook dinner, instead of just reheating it, in the microwave oven).
If you're lucky enough to live near a CorningWare et al factory store, strike when the iron is hot, that is, during a sale, especially the X-for-Y specials. You'll save the cost of shipping and you'll be able to stock up or replace your Pyroceram for a pittance.

5l dish
This item does not come with pot cover, and I just assumed that it does have one. I was disapointed. Company is advertising "buy 2 get one free", and I did not get "free item"!
