We're re-introducing this classic Corningware favorite in the original Blue Cornflower and some new updated patterns!
Pyroceram, a glass-ceramic heated material was originally developed by Corning Inc. in the 1950's to be used in rocket nose cones. Further development to kitchen products resulted in CorningWare cookware, which made its debut in 1958. It was hailed as a new space-age cookware material virtually impervious to temperature extremes.

Love the size, but can't find the cover/lid

I would have given this product a 5 star if it came with a cover or lid. I have a very difficult time finding a lid to fit this. The casserole is light weight, beautiful, and functional. Please recommend a lid for this product. I combed the web and cannot find anything. The outlet store does not have it either!

Bought one and I liked it so very much that I ordered one more. The color is a very elegant white. Casserole is made in france.The pyrex lid which was available separately (earlier) is made in USA. It would be great if they are available together.
The design is flawless and classic. I wish they make this available in smaller sizes (3.5L, 2.5L and 1.5L) too.
The swirl design coordinates well with corelle Vive Enhancements designs.

I purchased two previously and have just ordered my third. I use one for cooking vegetables in olive oil, or cooking chicken, fish, and meat. The second one, for which I purchased a lid, I use for cooking goulasch and chicken cacciatore.

This is a truly beautiful casserole. Stunning white with a swirl that takes it from being just a dish to something you'll want others to see and admire. Substantial weight and perfect in my microwave.

To we who grew up with it, CorningWare is Pyroceram and Pyroceram is Corningware. We grumbled when Pyroceram was discontinued and rejoiced when it came back in time for CorningWare's 50th anniversary. Though labeled "Limited Edition," it looks like CorningWare StoveTop Pyroceram is here to stay.
This French-made beauty is such a striking blend of Art Deco inspired style with the space-age properties of Pyroceram, I just HAD to have it. It looks like something you'd find at the estate sale of a home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and made in the 1920s of fragile porcelain, but it's a 21st century masterpiece of design and material.
We regularly make bacon cheeseburger macaroni in it, using a single cooking vessel to cook the bacon, brown the ground beef and prepare the cheese sauce before dumping in the elbow mac. Then into the oven it goes to bake, followed by a blast from the broiler to brown the top.
A soak with hot water and dishwashing liquid followed by a quick scrub and a little Bar Keeper's Friend, and it's back to its perch on the buffet, challenging all who see it to fathom its true inner beauty.

I had been looking at this new Pyroceram Enhancements White Swirl on the website for a while. Wanting it, but afraid to order sight unseen. Well I decided to travel 67 miles to my nearest Owens Corning store just to see it. And, OMG ! I bought it. And absolutely love it ! It is BEAUTIFUL !
I know it will last for years and years and look as beautiful in 20 years as it does now. I only wish they had more sizes in the store. I would have bought them too !

A classy update for a kitchen classic

CorningWare is Pyroceram and Pyroceram is Corningware. The two are inseparable in the hearts and minds of CorningWare aficionados, so World Kitchen did the right thing back in 2008 when they brought back StoveTop CorningWare for the brand's 50th anniversary.
When this casserole arrived I had to put it through its paces, so I browned some ground beef and bacon on top of the stove, drained off the fat, stirred in some shredded cheddar and hash brown potatoes, and then dumped in a dozen beaten eggs. Into the oven it went for 45 minutes at 350 degrees F. What came out was a marvelous bacon cheeseburger frittata and after a soak and a little Bar Keeper's Friend, the casserole glistened like new.
Your humble cook especially likes the Art Deco-inspired styling, resembling something one might pick up from an estate sale at a house designed Frank Lloyd Wright and made in the 1920s of porcelain. Any CorningWare Pyroceram fan will know it's the real thing just by picking it up. Lighter than stoneware, tougher than tempered glass and ready for everything from the broiler to the freezer, there's nothing else like it.
